Archaeological Volunteer Opportunities in Orkney

July 1, 2008

There are a limited number of spaces left for volunteers on the research-led excavation of a Neolithic settlement on the island of Wyre, Orkney. This is a fantastic opportunity to take part in the excavation of a Neolithic site in a unique island environment and further develop your professional skills in archaeology. Experience in digging prehistoric sites is preferable but being able to work as part of a team is essential.

Food will be provided Monday – Friday during the working week. There are limited funds available to help with accommodation and travel costs in getting to Orkney, but this will be on a first come first served basis, so get in touch soon! The dig will run between 25th August – 19th September 2008.

If you are interested in applying or would like more information, please contact Antonia Thomas on antonia.thomas@orkney.uhi.ac.uk, with a brief CV and details of why you would be interested in taking part. I look forward to hearing from you!

Deadline of July 14th
