Stamford Park Archaeological Dig – Lancashire

Stamford Park. Stamford St/ Darnton Rd Stalybridge Tameside Lancashire

As part of National Archaeology Week dig on the site of previous 19th century hall and medieval deer park. Opportunity to try geophysical techniques ( resistivity), trowelling and drawing. Suitable for supervised children and adults. Disabled access to proximity of the dig, toilets and café available within the park. Parking available on adjacent roads plus car park on Darnton Rd. Anyone intending to take part in the digging is advised to wear old clothes.
