AHRC Doctoral Studentship in Archaeology – Liverpool

The lost Hittite Gallery: John Garstang and Turkey
Maintenance Grant: £12,940 pa (plus payment of university tuition fees and an additional annual payment of £500)

Applications are invited for a PhD studentship based jointly in the School of Archaeology, Classics and Egyptology (SACE) and the Antiquities Department at World Museum Liverpool. Beginning in October 2008, the studentship will fund three years full-time study on this exciting research project. The successful applicant, who will normally have a relevant first degree and MA, will work to research and curate the WML’s Hittite collections and archives to bring the material and their significance in Britain at the time of the early Turkish Republic to academic and public attention.

The closing date for receipt of applications is Monday 9 June 2008 at 12 noon.
