Recent discoveries in the harbour of Theodosius, Istanbul

A public lecture by Dr Ismail Karamut, the director of the Istanbul Archaeological Museums

Dr Ismail Karamut will talk on ‘Recent discoveries in the harbour of Theodosius, Istanbul’, This is one of the most exciting ship archaeology discoveries in recent years and over 27 ships with their cargoes have been uncovered. The vessels dates from the sixth to the 13th centuries.

There will be a wine reception to follow this lecture in the Department of Archaeology and an exhibition on British architects and Byzantine monuments in Greece, also on public view at this time.
