The Third International Congress on Underwater Archaeology

The Third International Congress on Underwater Archaeology (IKUWA3) is to be held in London in 2008.

The Nautical Archaeology Society (NAS) in conjunction with project partners, the Institute of Field Archaeologists, and the Institute of Archaeology, University College London will play host to the largest conference on underwater archaeology ever held in Britain.

The Congress will be preceded by a 3-day Professional Development Field School, and followed by two days of optional excursions.

IKUWA3 is supported by the British Academy, English Heritage, DEGUWA, Gesellschaft für Schweizer Unterwasserarchäologie, the Römisch-Germanische Kommission (RGK), Hampshire and Wight Trust for Maritime Archaeology (HWTMA), and the Underwater Archaeology Research Centre at the University of Nottingham (UARC).

Monday 7th to Wednesday 9th July 2008: Professional Development Field School:
Thursday 10th July to Saturday 12th July 2008: IKUWA3 Congress
Sunday 13th July and Monday 14th July 2008: Optional Excursions
